Our Story 

Our story began in 2000, when Karen Martinez became a licensed realtor and later in 2005 founded Altima Real Estate as a tool for her and her husband's construction business.  While helping with construction projects, Karen also began assisting family members and close friends with their real estate needs. As she balanced raising her two kids and staying actively involved in their lives, Karen's business grew naturally through referrals and the trust of those who knew her best. Her reputation was built on honesty, hard work, and genuine care for every client—values that continue to define our company today. What started as a one-woman operation has grown into a trusted real estate company built on relationships, integrity, and personalized service.
 
Located in the South Valley area of Albuquerque, we proudly serve buyers and sellers throughout Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Belen, Rio Rancho, Bosque Farms, the East Mountains, and surrounding communities. No matter where your real estate journey takes you, we're here to provide knowledgeable guidance and local expertise every step of the way.  We're proud to remain a small, family-owned real estate company, and we believe that's one of our greatest strengths. Keith Kornegay and his wife Monique from Altima Real Estate were the greatest team we have ever worked with. From the start to finish were impressed. They helped with understanding the market in Santa Fe and even going out of his way to license himself to the county because in Santa Fe, NM they make you go through many hoops. “We decided to get into real estate, quite frankly, because we were screwed by a realtor." This is the way Keith explained it, sitting at our dining room table, his wife, Monique, nodded in agreement. We liked the answer, because we'd been screwed by a realtor, as well. There are endless stories of last-minute hurdles and unforeseen obstacles along the way, and Keith, man, every time, he was simply on it. On the phone, in whoever's office, getting advice from his team, communicating with us the entire way. This guy (and his wife) get it done, no stone unturned. My wife and I could not be happier with the experience, and we're confident in stating that this time, we weren't screwed.
